Project Green Balconies: Wedding gift for Neha Rohit

It was Nov’ 2018, when Neha and Rohit got married in typical 2-States style and task was to gift them something that they can cherish for long. They recently bought a house and were in the process of making it their ‘Home’.

Setting up a west facing green balcony on 17th floor apartment was challenging. Sunlight, air, aesthetic placement of plants and pots all had to be taken care of. We did their indoor plantation, balcony vertical herb garden setup and made lobby area welcoming through plantation, lighting and aesthetic design based on their preferences and availability of sun light and air.

I applied my learnings of Human centered design and Design thinking from IT and Design world, understood their daily needs and planned an indoor as well as outdoor green space that gives them pleasure of having morning lemon tea, spinach sandwiches and curry patta from their own balcony garden.

I setup a vertical 7 feet stand that allowed them grow many herbs in one of the corners of I shaped balcony. Setup flower beds at entrance based on sun light. Added character to the space with honey comb structure and a miniature garden. Every plant had a tag and the place was aesthetically designed with balance of greens, light and art. Garden miniatures added to the cuteness. All this, with a survival kit and 3 months gardening assistance.

Neha Rohit loved it and so did their friends. This was just the beginning of SustainX.
